Our Oxford Campus Vision

Oxford Brookes is committed to building an environment which supports our students, staff and partners to excel. Importantly, our campus spaces need to respond to the evolving needs of the University’s community and the rapidly changing world of education.

The University is committed to moving all of its Oxford-based activity onto the Headington Campus over the coming years. We believe our future Oxford environment will inspire a vibrant, connected and diverse student community to achieve their potential.

Closure of Wheatley Campus and new Headington Hill site buildings

We previously announced our commitment to moving all remaining activity from the Wheatley Campus to the Headington Campus. This has now taken place and the Wheatley site was formally handed over to the housebuilder Crest Nicholson at the end of October 2024.

Faculty activity previously based at Wheatley is moving to two new buildings on the Headington Hill site. The Teaching building opened for the start of Semester Two of the 2024-25 academic year and the Workshop building will fully open for the 2025-26 academic year. Further information on this development available on the project's dedicated webpages.

Movement of activity from the Harcourt Hill Campus

We will be moving all teaching and library services from Harcourt Hill to our Headington Campus for the start of the 2025/26 academic year. Information on accommodation options, including rooms at Harcourt Hill in 2025/26 for returning students, is available on the Accommodation webpages.

Catering services and current sport provision at Harcourt Hill, including the gym and pitches on the site, will continue to be provided during the 2025/26 academic year.

A set of Frequently Asked Questions for current and prospective students in relation to move is available via an online Google Doc which will continue to be updated.

Changes to bus services

There will be changes to University bus services and subsidised travel at Oxford Brookes for the 2025/26 academic year with further information available on our Travel webpage.

Works updates

Keep up to date with ongoing activity on the University's campuses and halls of residences via our works updates page.

Headington Hill site

The new Teaching building on the Headington Hill site opened its doors for the start of Semester Two in the 2024-25 academic year. The new Workshop building was formally handed over to the University in February 2025 and will open fully in the 2025/26 academic year.

Clive Booth Student Village

Construction work was completed in 2024 as part of the first phase redevelopment of Clive Booth Student Village. The project is providing an increased number of high-quality rooms for students within the University’s estate, close to the Headington Campus. This is also helping to reduce the number of students living in private rented accommodation and support efforts to manage local housing demand.
